April flowers punctuated by responsible amounts of April showers, please

Let’s just dive right into what anybody who’s anybody in Vermont is talking about: tax season! Oops, not that one, that’s weeks away. We’re all talking, thinking, dreaming, planning for and stressing about the eclipse. What are we gonna do with all these extra celebrants? Well, if you’re in downtown Barre, the Barre Partnership is organizing a block party on Merchant’s Row from 1-5 pm with music, vendors, eclipse glasses, and more! If you’re a bit more of a Main St. devotee, AR Market will be open Monday 4/8 from 10 am on! We’ll even have a few extra eclipse glasses available. Our neighbor Pearl St. Pizza will be open offering Caesar salads, grandma slices, and full bar - as well as a satellite stand at the block party serving local beer and cider.

VT Local Vendor Highlight: Trenchers Farmhouse Fresh Pasta

After a recent visit from one of our vendors, we found ourselves with some pretty incredible pasta samples from Trenchers Farmhouse. It was a matter of days before we agreed they were crazy delicious and would be a perfect fit in the market. Head to the produce cooler to check out our two offerings: one facing of regular pasta (currently mafaldine) and one gluten-free pasta (radiatori) - so good we wanted to ensure everyone got to enjoy!

Trenchers is based in Lyndonville, VT and half of the husband and wife duo behind the pasta are Italian born and raised, lending weight to their wise words, “If our pastas could talk, they would have a thick Italian accent fluent in Vermont agriculture.”

You can taste the care they take to craft locally-sourced, high-quality, handmade pastas. They use all Vermont-grown, freshly-milled wheat from two farms (Nitty Gritty Grain Co and NEK Grains) and their own farm-fresh eggs. No surprise that they are Good Food Finalists as well as recipients of the Slow Food Snail of Approval - come see and taste what incredible technique and great ingredients can do for your pastas at home!

Just a reminder to keep on taking advantage of our amazing new seafood pre-order program! Order on Wednesday before 5 pm for pickup any time on Friday. We are adjusting and expanding our offerings weekly, so if you didn’t see what you wanted last time, it may now be available! We’re also keeping several fish-friendly wines in the cooler, and are always happy to consult on pairings, side dishes, or preparation.

We love trying to find and source what you aren’t see here, so please reach out to contact@armarket.com if you want to get any new pesce into the pre-order.

As always, you can order directly on our website (we’ve added a tab at the top to make it easy) but here is your helpful link to dive into the seafood side!
